Our history
The Fund was established in 1943. Its objective is, to quote our charter, “to assist or benefit persons who have served at any time in the Army Commandos or being dependents, wives, widows or issue of such person, being in need of assistance”. The Fund is managed by a group of trustees, mostly drawn from the Army Commandos or their families or others associated with the armed forces.
Over the years the Fund has helped many people in need in many different ways. And, as time passes, the surviving Commandos and their wives and widows can still count on the Fund for support. This website explains how you qualify for support and how you should set about seeking help.
